Our Yoga Alliance certified teacher training programs have been created to align with Breathe's core values of "yoga for everyone". Whether you've always dreamed of becoming a yoga teacher or simply want to deepen your own personal practice, we have a training to suit your needs.


The Breathe Method (Fall)

Upon graduating from our 200 Hour Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher Training, you will have a comprehensive understanding of the subtle science of asana, pranayama, mantra, meditation and philosophy. You will gain confidence through experience by beginning to teach on Day One in a safe and supportive group so that you are ready to lead students the day you graduate.

This program includes:
  • Education in a wide variety of styles including vinyasa, hatha, therapeutic, yin, restorative, meditation & pre-natal
  • Anatomy and biomechanics of the physical body in relation to yoga posture refinement and enhancement
  • Anatomy of the subtle energy body and chakra system - practice & theory
  • Exploration of yogic and tantric philosophy
  • Effective teaching & sequencing methodology
  • One-on-one business mentoring & business structuring

Lacey Smith - Lacey holds a RYT-500 Hour designation from Yoga Alliance. She has been practicing yoga for over 10 years and has over 7 years of teaching experience with vinyasa flow being her specialty. She has trained with many accomplished teachers including David Swenson, Baron Baptiste and Travis Elliott.

Chris Rurka - Chris holds an ERYT-200 Hour designation from Yoga Alliance. He has been practicing for over 10 years and has been teaching full-time for 8 years. Chris has been blessed to learn from many accomplished teachers, including Ana Forrest, Rameen Peyrow and Edward Clark from London. Chris’ passion is to guide students on a path to realizing that their greatest teacher lies within themselves.

The Prenatal Method

Our 85-Hour Yoga Alliance Registered PreNatal Method Teacher Training is designed to give you all the tools and techniques necessary to safely and effectively guide your students through their entire pregnancy, during labour and after the arrival of baby.

As a registered prenatal yoga teacher (RPYT), it is important that your students feel confident, safe and supported during this sacred time in their lives.

In this training, you will learn


  • the subtle nuances of teaching Pre and Post Natal Asana;
  • safe movement and modifications throughout the trimesters, during labour and after;
  • how to gain the trust of and foster emotional support for your students;
  • exercises to aid in the safe recovery of the pelvic floor;
  • relaxation, meditation and pranayama techniques.

This training is open to all yoga teachers, midwives, doulas, nurses or anyone else looking to deepen their understanding of the physical and emotional connection between yoga and childbirth.

The Yin Method

The Yin Method 25-Hour Teacher Training Program*

Yin yoga consists of longer postural holds, breath work, meditation and controlled movement. A consistent Yin practice will assist with the release of areas of the body that tend to be more dense and restricted such as connective tissues, joints and ligaments.
In this program you will learn:


  • introduction to yin philosophy, related principles and benefits
  • the difference between yin and yang and how to move energy throughout the body
  • how to integrate mindfulness into a yin practice through self-inquiry exercises
  • the most common yin postures and their proper alignment
  • how to effectively utilize appropriate props
  • how to give safe and effective adjustments
  • how to effectively design classes
The Yin Method is a weekend intensive suitable for all levels of teachers and students who wish to learn how to integrate yin into their yoga practice.


*This Yin training qualifies towards Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Credits and all attendees will be issues a certificate of completion.
Liane Knox, ERYT200, has been working as a yoga instructor and wellness educator throughout Calgary since 2009. Liane is internationally trained in vinyasa flow through Frog Lotus Yoga and has complete the Yoga Therapy Certification at Mount Royal University. She is also certified in pre/post-natal yoga, adjusting, yin yoga and functional movement. Liane continues to be intrigued by the power of the mind-body connection and strives to elevate her students' journey both on and off the mat.

Training will be held November 3-5 at Nolan Hill as follows:

The Adjuster Method

The Adjuster Method is a practical 20-hour intensive training designed for yoga teachers and experienced students who are interested in expanding their knowledge of alignment and anatomy as they relate to common yoga poses. As a teacher, this training will improve your confidence to guide your students into a safer practice through the use of physical and verbal cues. As a student, this training will encourage a more safe and sustainable personal practice.

This training includes:
  • Study of basic anatomy and general alignment applied to sun salutations, standing postures, backbends, forward folds and twists
  • Principles of adjusting - developing skills in observation, communication, intention setting and connection
  • Instruction on how to avoid common misalignments and injuries
  • Appropriate use of props and modifications
  • Hands-on experience in practicing key adjustments
  • Developing succinct and alignment based cuing

Join Angelique Panther (E-RYT200, YACEP) and Rebecca Breneman (RYT200) as they cultivate community, connection and trust in this fun, interactive training.

Training will be held at Nolan Hill as follows:
Friday, November 17 from 7:30-10:00pm
